A personal note about this Shellback, I have included an extra large version of this image for those who are interested in viewing the intricacies of the art and to illustrate the extraordinary calligraphic pen. The Bailey must have been fortunate to have a hand experienced at calligraphy and who was aware of what this extra touch would mean to those who took these home after the war as the remembrance of this unique time in history. I have not been able to identify this individual, if you read this and know that the calligrapher was you, a family member or friend I would appreciate knowing who this unique individual is. Please contact me using the contact form page.
